Mid-June brought me to Sacramento, California where I dined on the lawn of the California State Capital among glorious examples of California grown flowers. Alongside me at the dinner were flower aficionados, farmers, and elected officials who all came together to share the value of buying and supporting Certified American Grown Flowers.
The table was set with stunning examples of California grown blooms, designed by local florist, Liezet Arnold of Bloem Décor. The setting was complemented by a seasonally-inspired menu curated by Chef Dan Watterson of Statehouse at the Capital. The three course dinner was paired with Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel from Geyser Peak Winery.
